By the Tide Birthday

This card was my October all-occasion card - 2 Anniversary, one Sympathy and a birthday!

I used watercolor paper for the background and brushed on six colors of Twinkling H2O paints and then lightly misted with water again so the colors would run a little. Then I used one of the stamps from Gorgeous Grunge for the bubbles and stamped that in Baja Breeze and Tempting Turquoise.  The coral was done in Sparkle N Sprinkles embossing powders - Pink Delight, Mediterranean Star, Ice, and Cappuccino.  The seahorses and shells (two of them are Inkadinkadoo) were done in Cappuccino and lightly colored with colored pencils.  The sentiment strip was cut off the side of the background and the sentiment embossed with Cappuccino Star.
The cardstock is Pool Party and Blush Blossom with an unknown brown.

Between the Twinkling H2O's and the sparkle embossing powders, this card really shines!

Garden Gnome Birthday

My mother is turning 87 in a few weeks and she just redid her Gnome Garden (lifting concrete blocks and all! - you've seen the Mr. Clean and his grandma commercial - that's my mom!).  So I thought a Garden Gnome birthday card was very appropriate.  The box card is a file from SVGcuts.com -it's from their summer boxes, the party celebrations box.  The Gnomes are from My Scrap Chick - they have amazing files! I sized the gnomes down a bit so they would fit in the box.

I just love the little daydreamer at the bottom (that's me!).

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Deep Ocean Challenges -At least one flower
Fun with Shapes and More - Midsummer Night's Dream (elves, fairy tales, love, marriage)
A Creative Romance - In the Garden
Crafty Catz - Birthday

My Scrap Chick cards

You may be seeing a lot more of this type of card with cut files from My Scrap Chick - I just love their stuff!  Both of these cards are for the same 2 year old - so I had to make them quick and easy.  The first is made with My Scrap Chick's Party Girls and the second is one of their Easel Cards and they have lots more!  I can't wait to do some Christmas cards with cut files for my Silhouette!

Pastel Birthday

I cased a card on pinterest (found HERE) and it turned out to look nothing like the card I cased!  So the question is....Did I really case it?  First of all I used a Martha Stewart butterfly, which wasn't nearly as large and then I used SU Petite Petals and the leaves from Stippled Blossoms.  And the color combo is much subtler.  Love the Hardwood background done with Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla.  The flowers were also stamped with Crumb Cake on a piece of watercolor paper that I splotched with six different colors of Twinkling H2O's first.  You can see the sheen of the flowers better in the photo below.   The best part, though, is the sentiment that I didn't have a label to fit on, so my good friend Terry showed me how to trace and cut on the Silhouette!  Thank you Terry!  I just love it!

Nascar Fever

Hello!  Another special order card for a hubby who is a Nascar fan! Most of the images on this were clip art from Google images and a few are stickers from a Recollections package at Michaels.  The black and white checkered paper was an online freebie that I forgot to bookmark, so I can't remember the site.  The white dashes on the road at the bottom were made with a rectangular hand punch and glued on the black cardstock.  The sentiment is Stampin Up done with Sparkle N Sprinkle's Red Apple embossing powder.  Happy Birthday Dave!
