First Christmas Card for 2013!

 Well, I've decided that in order to get more Christmas cards done this year than last I need to keep them Clean and Simple.  We'll see how long that resolution lasts! This is a digi stamp by Stitchy Bear Digis called O Winter Trees that I simply printed out in green ink and then covered with Sparkle N Sprinkles' Shimmer embossing powder.  Easy Peasy for a fabulous look!  The little tag is Stampin Up and the green cardstock is the discontinued Handsome Hunter - I wish they would bring that one back!

Love Bird Anniversary

This is another consignment card for a friend which I obviously just love making!  It is cased from a card by Teneale Williams that I found on Pinterest.  I think the two step bird punch is my all time favorite punch because I just couldn't wait to make this.  The leaves heart is made with a base heart done with the Silhouette and then a layer of a Martha Stewart border punch and then a top layer of the leaves that go with the bird punch.  I think the color is Always Artichoke.  I then lightly spritzed it with Glimmer Mist, but it doesn't show up in the photo. The embossing folder was brayered with Lumiere Pink/Gold and White paints lightly spritzed with water before brayering.  The flowers I took off a silk spray and replaced the plastic centers with pearls.  And the leaves behind the flowers are a Cheery Lynn Die.  The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with Spellbinders label, of course!

Vintage Gatefold Birthday

 I've had the Graphics 45 "A Ladies' Diary " papers since Christmas and am just now getting around to using them.  There are so many gorgeous images in the pack, that no stamping is necessary.  But choosing the embellishments proved to be a little more challenging.  The lace and ribbons was from a huge stash that my mother gave me when she moved to Florida.  The Memory Box die I've had for a year and finally just opened for the first time.  I embossed the flourishes with Sparkle N Sprinkle's Pink Delight and Mediterranean.  The Mediterranean I also touched up with some SNS Seaspray glitter.  The little butterfly stick pin I got at a vintage store for 50 cents! The base cardstock is Stampin Up's old Blush Blossom and Very Vanilla.  I rarely make something with so many embellishments, so I know I need more practice.  This is a request from a very special friend for her very special mother and I know she'll just love it.

 The inside center panel has three layers because I messed up the first sentiment panel with glitter and glue, so I just glued another one on top.  But wouldn't you know, somehow the ink on THAT smeared when I went to blow off the glitter from IT!  I just let that one go - it's a distinctive mark of "Hand Made"!

June Wedding

This is not an original, but I just had to share!  One of my dear crafting friend's son is getting married today so I had to whip up a very special card.  I found an entire set of free cut files on Bird's Cards blog, along with tutorial and I just have to spread the word.  The only tricky part was finding different textures of white card stock in the same shade.  Who knew that white comes in different shades?  I finally gave it up and it still turned out nicely!  You will find the cut files and tutorial HERE.  Have fun!

With Sympathy

My aunt in Germany (on my mother's side) passed away a week before my dad and I'm just now getting around to a card for the cousins.  This is the English version, of course, - theirs has the German "Aufrichtige Anteilnahme" on it.  This card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest by Monica's Passions Blog.  Hers had some green on it, but I stuck with plain black and white.  I think it's all pretty self explanatory- I had never thought of using the two step bird punch on a sympathy card - genius!
The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the buckle is from Amazon.

Note Card Set

 I had a request for a set of note cards like I had made pre-blog days and thought I would post these because they are so quick and easy.  The cut out is made with the Silhouette and then scored around the edges.  They are layered on various colors of cardstock with dimensionals and decorated with pearls and Martha Stewart punched butterflies.  Super easy and a great gift!











 I also made a gift box out of heavy duty designer paper, complete with acetate opening:



As you can see, I'm back and have requests on order already!  Dad's service in Florida was just what he would have wanted.  We will miss him sorely.

In Memory of my Father......

Dear blogger friends! In case you are wondering where I've been since April, I'm afraid I'm taking a little break from crafting as I mourn the loss of my dear, sweet father. He passed away on Mother's Day at the age of 88 in Sarasota, Fla. We are fortunate that he did not have a long hospital stay and he lived a year longer than the doctors predicted. His heart simply finally gave out. He lived a long, full life and we are grateful for that. I will be going back to Sarasota next week for the memorial service on the beach at Siesta Key and so will probably not be back until end of June. May you rest in peace, my dear "Vati". Gerlinde
