Surfin Woody #2 - Beach scene

Hello again!  Happy last Monday in February!  I'm back with Sparkle N Sprinkle's new Surfin Woody #456 stamp set and this time I decided to get my alcohol inks out.  I'd forgotten how messy they could get, but well worth the mess when you're done.  I happened to get a free pack of 4 x 6 glossy photo paper last time I bought printer ink, so I had plenty of paper to practice on before I got the hang of it again.  The sand is done with Butterscotch and Latte ink, the ocean is Stream and Stonewashed ink, and the sky is Stonewashed, Slate, with a touch of Purple Twilight.  I used Florida Beach (#1111) glitter on the sand, colored the images with Copics, and drew the birds with Copics C7. The ocean foam is done with a white gel pen and the sentiment (from SNS Happy Birthday #416) is embossed with Mediterranean #417.  It was then mounted on an old SU turquoise cardstock and edged with 1/8" Tearific tape that was sprinkled with Waterfall (#1071) glitter.  The bottom layer of the card is SU Pool Party.  Complete directions can be found here.
I'm so pleased with how it turned out, that I may have to get Sparkle N Sprinkle's other two beach sets - By the Seashore and Ocean Treasures- and keep that alcohol ink out!
I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Allsorts - your choice
Always Crafting - anything goes
Divas by Design - bling it up
Polkadoodle - summer fun
That Craft Place - Anything Goes
The Crazy Challenge - anything goes

Surfin Woody

OK - I know - I'm a little late for the release of this set, but I was busy playing with my Copics (and watching Copics tutorials).  I think I filled a sheet of this car before I finally got one that I liked!  So here it is, finally.  I still have some practicing to do, but it turned out ok.
The cardstock is just miscellaneous colors from my stash, as is the ribbon.  The woodgrain paper is from an Etsy shop called "blurs by ai"  and is the most realistic digital wood paper I have ever seen.  The panels are mounted on cardstock embossed with Sparkle N Sprinkle's Cappuccino Star and the brads are embossed with the same embossing powder.  The sentiments, "Old Guys Rule" from Surfin Woody (set 456) and "Happy Birthday" from Sparkle N Sprinkle's set 416 Happy Birthday are both embossed with Mediterranean, which has the prettiest sheen that you can't see in the photo.  Complete directions can be found here.
So I'm off to do my beach scene for the other Surfin Woody - stay tuned!

Birthday Blooms

I had to have 4 birthday cards for this week and 2 for next week, so my stash was a little depleted.  Besides, my good friend Terry follows my blog, so I HAD to make something new for her.  I also hadn't used my SU two step bird punch that I bought last year, so I was thrilled to be able to use it.
The background paper is by Paper Pizzaz and the cardstock is Brocade Blue.  I used the design on the belly of of the bird in Punch Potpourri to stamp the wing with Versamark.  I used Spellbinders Standard Circles Large as the background for the bird and mounted it on Heartfelt Creations' Decorative Oval Window (another first time use since I bought it in August).  The yellow and peach colored flowers are Recollections and the pink flower was a white one from my stash that I colored with Copics to match the DP.  The ribbon and gemstone are just from my stash.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafy Pad - the letter B (bird and blue)
Paperplay - Critters
Totally Papercrafts - Ribbon/Bows
Truly Scrumptious - All creatures great and small
Sarah Hurley Challenges - die cuts
Mema's Crafts - anything goes
Sparkle Forum Challenge - Things with wings

Flower Vases

Hi again!  Did you have fun on the blog hop?  Weren't the cards ALL just gorgeous?  Don't forget to check back at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog for the winners!
Well, this is a post-Spring Fling Blog Hop card using a stamp from the same set as my Flower Shop card below, Flower Vases. What's better than a bright cheery card in the dead of winter?  I wanted to use my Spellbinder's Daisy Border and so had to make the card 5 x 7.  The Daisy Hi from the Flower Vases stamp set was the perfect companion.  And, of course, all that sparkly goodness from Sparkle N Sprinkle, Lemonade and Spirited Green.   The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch.  If you would like complete directions, you can find them here.
I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Emma's (CES) - Lots of Layers
If the Shoe Fits - Scrap it- anything goes
Allsorts - free and easy
Our Creative Corner - Flowers/ Friend
Scrapbook Sisters - anything goes

Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop "Spring Fling"

Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's "Spring Fling" Blog Hop! It won't be long before those cute little crocuses pop up.  Hang in there!

If you've come here by way of  Barbara, you're in the right place!  If you want to start from the beginning, go the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog and find out how you can win one of FIVE wonderful prizes.  You don't want to miss any of the designers' gorgeous designs!

My first card uses the stamp set Flower Vases (#265), Waterfall glitter and SNS cardstock, Hurricane and Tickled Pink.  The details on the card take a little bit of time, but well worth it for that special friend.  This would be a great easel card, too, with a few rows of the punched grass on the bottom layer. For complete directions, click here.

My second card uses the set Spring Swirl (#425), the new embossing powder, Cerulean Star (for the vase and edge of oval die) and lots of other wonderful Sparkle and Sprinkle products.  The tulips too are made with sparkly embossing powders, Tequila Sunrise, Winter Berry, and Bullfrog.  For a complete list and directions, click here. The color combination reminds us of the colors that will be blooming outdoors soon!

Thanks for visiting and now hop on over to Karin for more inspiration! Don't forget to leave a comment on each blog to become eligible for one of the prizes! There are 2 grand prizes and 3 "mystery" prizes attached to 3 of the designers' blogs.
